<p>When it first appeared at the 1966 Geneva Motor Show, the Miura P400 created almost as much of a stir as the first showing of Picasso’s Les Demoiselles d’Avignon in 1916. The world’s first ever supercar was not only a creation of astonishing, hand-built beauty but also a confection of undreamt-of engineering. Capable of 175mph and 0-60mph in 6.7 seconds, making it the fastest production car in existence, the Miura drew on and advanced the technical set-up of Ford’s Le Mans-winning GT40; but the Miura’s home-grown V12 engine with six Weber carburettors was transversely mounted behind the passengers, and effectively merged with the transmission and differential to save space. Jaws dropped on all sides. Aston Martin’s wonderful DB4 and Jaguar’s glorious E-Type had first appeared only a handful of years before, yet the Miura made them both look antediluvian.</p>

<p>These revolutionary innovations were the work of three Lamborghini engineers, led by Gian Paolo Dallara, who had worked in their own time, after office hours, to compose their automotive beau ideal.</p>



<p>The firm’s founder Ferruccio Lamborghini – son of a farmer and formerly a manufacturer of tractors – had little enthusiasm for what was, effectively, a two-seater racing car for the road. Though he was a Ferrari owner himself, Ferruccio preferred to sell grand touring cars after the manner of France’s Facel Vega. Viewing the Miura as not much more than a loss-leader, he consented to the development project chiefly because he believed it might become a useful promotional tool for the company’s mainstream products. In a nod to Ferrucio’s enthusiasm for the corrida, the car’s creators named it Miura after the famous lineage of fighting bulls.</p>



<p>What entranced customers, however, was Georgetto Giugiaro and Marcello Gandini’s design for the Miura’s body. Working for the Bertone design house, they drew the declining bonnet so low that pop-up headlights had to be installed (the suggestion of mascara touches on their eyelids was merely a witty ’60s jeu d’esprit). With an overall height of less than four feet, the Miura presented a challenge of spinal flexibility for any prospective owner – especially one trying to get in or out wearing a short skirt – but that didn’t stop the starriest of customers queuing up to pay $20,000 to get their hands on one. They included the Shah of Iran and Frank Sinatra (who were both long past the first flush of youth by that time), along with the more agile Elton John, Rod Stewart and Miles Davis (though Miles managed to break both ankles crashing his Miura in a cocaine-fuelled smash).</p>



<p><strong>Let the good times roll: Lamborghini through the ages</strong></p>



<p>Only 763 Miuras would be built in the entire production run from 1966 to 1973. One of the most desirable was the P400 S Coupé, introduced in 1968. Only 146 were ever built, one of which is to be offered by Bonhams in the&nbsp;Bond Street Sale in December. For this version, some nominal concessions were made to creature comforts – such as electric windows, enlarged boot space and glove box – while adding another 20bhp to the already outrageous powers of the engine, pumping it up to 365bhp. In the course of that production run, the world rapidly adjusted to the Miura’s innovations and competitors began to appear, notably Ferrari’s Daytona. As the 1970s began, the question for Lamborghini was how to follow the Miura. Their answer was the mind-blowing Countach.</p>



<p>By that time, given the astounding success of the Miura, Ferruccio Lamborghini had come round to appreciating the commercial benefits of creating cars as works of art. For the Countach, he actively encouraged his team to give expression on company time to their most far-fetched fantasies and yearnings. The result was a car whose wedge shape and scissor doors made it look as if it had arrived from another planet.</p>



<p>Again, Lamborghini called on Marcello Gandini of Bertone for the body design. Gandini had already experimented with wedge-shaping for the Lancia Stratos rally car, which won the World Rally Championship repeatedly in the 1970s. Where the Miura had been a sports racing car for the road, the Countach was more like a road-worthy rally car (and it was equally trying to get in and out of).</p>



<p>The name, according to Gandini, came from a guy in the workshop who spoke only Piedmontese and would exclaim “countach!” – meaning something like “would you believe it?” or “son of a gun” – every time something went wrong. Gandini fancied the sound of the word for the car but wasn’t sure if it would work in Anglo-Saxon. Some self-appointed know-all in the workshop assured him it would be fine, so that was that.</p>

<p>Bugatti Veyron<br>Bugatti Veyron<br>An Overview of the 2015 Bugatti Veyron Review<br>The car with its nearly unrivaled speed, power, and performance, the Veyron has become famous worldwide and has received overwhelmingly positive feedback from its reviewer and drivers. It has won both “Car of the Decade and best car award (2000–2009)” as well as” Best Car Driven All Year award’ from Top Gear, and with a max speed of 267.856 mph, set the record for the fastest street legal production car in the world according to Guinness. It is more likely a person would know what a Veyron is rather than whether Europe is a country or continent!</p>



<p>The Veyron is named in honor of the Buggati’s test and race driver, Pierre Veyron, who along with his co-driver won the 24 hours of Le Mans in 1939. Everything from the engine to the beautifully crafted interior was assembled by hand, a painstaking 300 hours of work by twenty of Buggati’s skilled engineers. Hence, it is no wonder that it was priced at $1,914,000.</p>



<p>The Bugatti Veyron was a car few could afford but for those lucky (or rich) enough to drive the magnificent beast, it offered an unforgettable experience and source of pride.</p>



<p>This review covers the standard version of the Veyron. The later models and special variants are not discussed for the sake of uniformity.</p>

<p>Performance<br>Bugatti Veyron Performance<br>Bugatti Veyron Performance<br>Most of the technical work was done under the supervision of Volkswagen’s engineering chief Wolfgang Schreiber and as such you can see fine professional German engineering inside the car. The Veyron holds the titanic 8.0-litre, quad-turbocharged, W16 cylinder engine with each cylinder having four valves, making a total of 64.</p>



<p>W16 cylinder engine capable of producing tremendous power, a max of 1,006 bhp and a torque of 922 lb-ft, and the kerb weight is 4,162 lb giving it a good power/weight ratio of 523 bhp per ton. This allows allowing the car to quickly get to the record braking speeds it is famous for.</p>



<p>To prevent the engine from overheating, the car makes use a total of twelve radiators and numerous air vents. In fact, the engine at full throttle breathes 47,000 liters of air per minute!</p>



<p>The car has terrible fuel economy. At full speed, it gulps down 1.33 gallons of oil per minute. This doesn’t only make a great impression on bystanders, but also makes environmentalists worried!</p>



<p>The transmission is dual-clutch direct-shift gearbox computer-controlled automatic with seven gear ratios, providing a great shift time of just 50 milliseconds. The replacement for the transmission is very pricey, a massive $ 120,000, so it’s best you keep it properly maintained (unless maybe money isn’t a problem for you).</p>



<p>Despite the ballistic speeds, the driver remains in control of the car even when pushed to the limit. At speeds of 140 mph or greater the spoilers and wings of the car deploy a down force of a impressive 770 lb-ft to ensure the car remains on the ground and doesn’t fly off. The hydraulics also work to lower the car and increase balance.</p>



<p>The handling is sharp and very responsive. In fact it is so good, after driving, and even Gordon Murray the McLaren F1 designer changed his mind about the Bugatti Veyron.</p>



<p>In order to decelerate this four wheel jet-like vehicle, the 400 mm carbon ceramic brake system reinforced with silicon carbide ( which by the way is one of the strongest material in the world after diamond) is used, having a braking potential of 1.3 g. This makes the car capable of decelerating from 250 mph to 0 mph in less than ten seconds!</p>

<p>1967 Ford Mustang<br>The Classic Ford Mustang<br>The first Ford Mustang was launched in April 1964 and was later dubbed “1964½” by its fans. The car was available in two models: the coupe and the convertible. Both models featured a lengthened hood and shortened rear deck, chrome wrap-around bumpers, chrome grille and full wheel covers. These became the features of a new class of sport coupes dubbed “pony car”. It is believed that the Mustang served as a source of inspiration for the designs of coupes such as the Toyota Celica and Ford Capri, which were imported to the US.</p>



<p>The 1965 Mustang was the first car ever to win the Tiffany Gold Medal for excellence in American design. Furthermore, the Mustang was on the Car and Driver Ten Best list in 1983, 1987, 1988, 2005, 2006 and 2011. After winning the Motor Trend Car of the Year award in 1974 and 1994, the Mustang was runner-up to the Chrysler 300 for the North American Car of the Year award and was named Canadian Car of the Year in 2005.</p>

This is the sixth generation of the model and I must say that it is a perfect blend of sophistication, sport and safety, which makes it a true luxury sport coupe.</p>



<p>With this new model, Ford celebrates 50 years since the original pony car. During this interval, there have only been five generations of completely new Mustangs. This sixth generation is better in every way than its predecessors. It comes with a new independent rear suspension, an enhanced cabin and a new turbo four-cylinder model. It also has new double-ball-joint front suspension, improved pitch control during hard acceleration and hard braking and less body roll, that enhances the overall feel and ride.</p>

<p>Features<br>Additionally, a Selectable Driving Modes system is available. This allows the driver to adjust the car’s steering effort and engine response, as well as select from a number of transmission and stability control settings: normal, snow/wet, sport and track.</p>



<p>Other features meant to make every driver’s ride more pleasant are the voice-activated technology and hands-free calling, which allow users to make calls with the sound of their voices, without the need to manipulate a mobile device. They can also plug in their compatible digital music players, USB drives or SD cards and browse their music collection using voice commands. Incoming texts can be read with audible text, so that drivers don’t get distracted while on the road.</p>



<p>One of my favourite features is the BLIS (Blind Spot Information System) with Cross-Traffic Alert. This detects a vehicle in the blind spot using radar and alerts the driver with an indicator light in the exterior mirror. The Cross-Traffic Alert also uses radar to detect if there is any traffic behind you while you are backing up. If cross-traffic sensors detect a vehicle approaching from up to 15 yards away, a voice alert will inform the driver.</p>

<p>The racing world is entirely different from the urban or the extra-urban culture where we normally drive cars. They have a different science, an ice-cold engineering, different styling, and even different fueling concepts.</p>



<p>Since long we have been seeing a lot of sports cars. And even we see a lot of them on the roads. Well, don’t be confused between a luxury sports trim car and an actual sports car. You cannot drive a city car off-road for long. Instead, you would need an off-road vehicle for such an expedition. But you can bring off-road vehicles on the city roads. Well, the same goes for sports cars. You can take out the Panoz GTR-1 on the race tracks and evenly you can show-off that asset on the city roads.</p>



<p>Well, the Panoz is not shy to the auto world. Neither is the GTR-1 unknown. We have seen it driving in the Le Mans and even saw it running in the FIA GT Championship. While we seldom saw this beast running on the city roads. Well, the Panoz GTR-1 was developed way back in 1996 for the 1997 FIA GT Championship. And after a successful test, the vehicle was brought onto the track.</p>



<p>But it was never kept concealed. Instead, Panoz marketed this car since then. Though it restricted some market parameters. But you can get one of those beasts for $900,000. Well, what so special in this car? And why is it so much expensive? That is all because of its sporty mechanism and the sports spirit.</p>



<p>Hood of 2019 Panoz GTR-1<br>The GTR-1 came out with a 6.0 L V8 engine. And since its launch, there has been no change made in the mechanism of this car. Further, the power-machine is coupled with a ZF 6-speed transaxle transmission with the paddle shifters. Ahead of that, this combination delivers 600 hp of power with 500 lb-ft of torque.</p>



<p>The track version of the GTR-1 is capable of knocking 0-62 mph within 3.4 seconds. While when it comes to the streets, it is left to launch within 5.0 seconds. Along with that, it covers a top speed of 155 mph. While the track variant can hit 177 mph. Well, this difference is understandable that when you have to unleash a beast on the streets, you have to muzzle it first.</p>



<p>The Panoz GTR-1 has been featured to homage the founder of the Panoz automobiles. He passed away in September of 2018. While the GTR-1 has not received any change for the event as well.</p>

<p>The Chevrolet Corvette received the revamped ZR1 for the model of 2019. Since last few generations, the ZR1 has posed a strong position in the class. <p>Well, the first ZR1 was introduced back in 1969. It was the first ever performance package introduced for the Corvette line-up. The later models were introduced in 1990 and 2009. While the present model was introduced during the Dubai Motor Show of 2017 as the model for the year 2019.</p>



<p>The recent model is based on the older Z06 version. While the improvements include a new drivetrain, increased structural size and a larger power enhancement system. Though it is still based on the outgone model, but it incorporates plenty of new parts. Indeed it is a legacy variant produced by Chevrolet for the Corvette.</p>



<p>The Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 gets a starting price of $123,000. While a middle-class variant is available for as low as $136,000. The more specs you get enrolled in your car, the more you have to pay for them. Certainly, the final price with everything included would be around $141,000. Indeed that would suffice if you looking for a powerful yet comfortable sports car.</p>



<p>Throughout the Corvette’s career, the ZR1 has been an influential model in the series. And even this time, it takes a notable position in the market. Though costly, but it is well-versed in attracting a number of performance loving folks.</p>

<p>Well, when you would hear about such enormous specs, you would certainly think about some nasty power load. And definitely, the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 has that. It gets 755 horses pounding 715 lb-ft of torque, which might one day make this car fly sky high and jump onto Mars. And yeah, the Martians would even admire its power.</p>



<p>Certainly, when you have hands on such a gigantic structure, why would you not think about testing its performance? Really you would prefer doing that. Well, the Corvette ZR1 would not disappoint you much. It can knock 0-62 mph within some good 3 seconds. And Chevrolet claims that ZR1 can roll up to 212 mph. We would recommend you to not to drive reckless on the streets. Instead, test a ZR1 on a race track. And for sure, you would love it.</p>



<p>Ahead of that, the standard version comes equipped with the 7-speed Tremec manual transmission. While, there is even an 8-speed automatic transmission borrowed directly from the Z06. Further, the ZR1 is equipped with bigger tires, strong carbon ceramic brakes with a double wishbone system. Along with that it carries a magnetic ride control system. With all these, you cannot really roll down the track. Instead, it has a fine handling attribute that makes the ride feel soft and responsive.</p>

Further, the 19-inch alloy wheels come standard. While the 20-inch wheels remain optional. Ahead of that, the rest of the cosmetic is similar to the other models in the series. <p>The cheap sports cars are not much common. And when you start finding such cars you would have to look into different perspectives of a car being offered. Well, McLaren made this possible with its 540C, an entry-level version of the 570S.</p>



<p>The 540C was introduced during the Shanghai Motor Show of 2015. It was introduced as a street-legal sports car. While the rest of the 570S series is mainly crafted as the track version. Well, the applause and appreciate were obvious during its initial introduction. But along with that, it even gained decent fame in the market.</p>



<p>The McLaren 540C gets a base price of $150,000 and it goes up to $185,000. While the actual 570S is rated above $250,000. Well, with such a base price, it becomes easier to get a sports car. Especially for those who are saving money for an expensive trip to Dubai or looking to buy a mansion in a lonely island.</p>



<p>Well, the 540C is slightly different than the rest of the series. And even it gets a low powered tuning to settle down on the city roads. But still, it manages to get a lot of fame to this series. Further, it does get some healthy competition in the market. But the choice of this level is more dominantly based on the brand title.</p>



<p>The 540C is capable of almost everything you expect. But beware it cannot fly at all. It does run fast, shows a hefty top speed and has a glamorous structure. Along with that it even gets some restrictions to make it legal for the city driving.</p>



<p>The 540C gets the same 3.8 L V8 turbocharged engine like the rest of the cars under this series. But it offers the lowest power rating among all. The 540C gets 533 hp of power making 398 lb-ft of torque, which is certainly 29 hp lower than the actual model. Further, with such power rating, this McLaren does not even lack in the performance. It laps 0-62 mph within 3.6 good seconds. And it is capable to knock 195 mph.</p>

<p>Well, the 540C comes with the rear-wheel-drive configuration only. While it offers a good handling strength. The steering column is filled with the rack and pinion. Further, the double wishbone suspension adds some decency to the handling skills. Overall 42% of weight is distributed in the front and 58% in the rear.</p>



<p>Ahead of that, the McLaren 540C has been crafted for the everyday ride. But its mileage does not really reflect that. It offers 15 mpg as the combined fuel mileage, which certainly cannot beat a long list of the fuel-saving cars.</p>



<p>The 540C gets the similar styling like the rest of the models under 570S. Just a few cosmetic inclusions make it seem different. Well, the cosmetics include alloy wheels available in 4 different designs, colored black calipers, and the Pirelli P Zero tires. Further, the add-ons include carbon fiber exterior package, side mirror color options, exhaust finish, and some other effects. Certainly, the enhancement options are available for the whole car, beginning from the front bumper and ending on the rear one.</p>



<p>While, the 540C weighs 2,890 lbs, allowing the lesser weight to power ratio than the rest of its siblings. Well, not just that, it is just another fundamental concept for daily driving. Something that could make you pose like the super errand runner.</p>



<p>The McLaren only offers to space for 2. And so did the 540C. Well, the interior equipment includes sports seats, fiber accent, and stylish components. Further, the interior enhancements include leather upholstery and the carbon black interior appointment. An additional carbon fiber upgrade adds carbon fiber to the door inserts, tunnel sides, gear shift, paddles, and the steering wheels. While you can either go with the standard sports seats or the carbon fiber race seats. Additionally, the 540C even offers 5 cubic feet of space for the cargo making it an entry-level everyday sports car.</p>



<p>While if there had been some more space for sitting, things might have become much more different. But with all these traits the McLaren 540C is capable of attracting a lot of performance loving folks.</p>
